Greater Manchester Health and Care Champions Awards 2018

As many of you may know Salford Dadz - Little Hulton burst into  life  as part of the Does It Project , managed by Unlimited Potential, and last night saw a couple of our dads join with people from Unlimited Potential and Dadz from the other two areas at the 2018 Greater Manchester Health and Care Champions Awards shich were held at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. The event was great with Anabelle Tiffin from NW Tonight hosting and a great opening speech by

    Cracks in the Wall

Editors Note: When Salford Dadz – Little Hulton first started we played with the idea of having an online message board so that local dads could talk to each other on line, write blogs about their stories, or to generally ask for advice. Although it worked to a certain extent there didn’t appear to be much of an appetite for it and over time it fell into disuse. I was reminded of this message board the other day and had a look through it and unsurprisingly found a couple of g

    Hilton Lane Primary Summer Fete.

We had a great time last weekend down at Hilton Lane Primary's summer fair, we took our tin can alley game along with us and had great fun. The weather, for a change has been great but unfortunately we suffered from quite gusty wind over the playground and had to close the stall earlier than we would have liked. We still managed to raise some funds for the school though. This weekend we had a water fight out on Peel Park which was Dadz versus Kids, I think the kids won but on

Saturday Dadz and Kidz @ Easter

We had lots of fun decorating Easter eggs today at our Saturday Dadz and Kids club. As you can see there was lots of concentration required, I think most of them may have made it home but I'm not sure how long they will last. #GENERAL

Little Hulton Goes Large - Sept 9th 2017

Well wasn't it wet! "Little Hulton Goes Large" was first thought of after the Lowry announced that the "Roundabout Theatre" would be coming to Little Hulton roughly 12 months ago. The desire of those involved was to give the local residents a festival that Little Hulton would enjoy, its aims to bring community together to have some fun and to showcase some of the local groups and businesses that exist in the area. A group of local residents and council workers as well as staf

What if your story could make a change?

We all have our own stories, either it be good or bad or in the middle. Regardless of which these are our journeys to where we are today, but what if our journeys could help others. What if they could make things just that little bit easier for someone else on a similar journey. No matter what your position in life is right now, you have acquired some sort of lived experience. It could be homelessness, drug or alcohol issues, mental health or physical health issues, mental or

Losing Control Event - Oxford April 2017

What happens when you put a group of people in a room to discuss the practicalities of creating a social movement fit for change? Well a little bit of chaos, a lot of learning, and a great new bunch of friends who share the vision of creating something good. Three of us here at Salford Dadz - Little Hulton were invited to attend this event which formed part of "Marmalade" the informal, dynamic, free and open-access fringe event to the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurs

End of Term Event - Tony Lloyd

One of our members went along to GMP Headquarters yesterday to listen to Tony Lloyd, Interim GMP Mayor and Policing and Crime Commissioner and Jim Battle, Deputy Commissioner speak about the work that has been done during their terms. It was a great evening with both thanking the groups that were there for their input and support. We have met with Jim Battle a few times to discuss what we are doing and how we can play a part in supporting the police. The evening included a s
